CURRENT RESEARCH

(a) Completed

· Analysis Of Internet Traffic In An Academic Institution- A case study of the University of Ibadan using two third party log analyzers (2007):

The outcome of the research revealed that most users in the University of Ibadan use windows operating systems, most users of University website are mainly students, the frequent entry and exit page for most users of the University website is the admission page and the pick of traffic is when the students are on campus. This shows that there is not much of teaching/ learning materials on the University website. It also revealed that the country that visited University of Ibadan’s website most is America which might be a factor caused by the fact that most of the network that used UI website use Internet Service Provider (ISP) based in the United States of America even though the users are based in Nigeria.

(b) In progress

· Analysis Of Internet Traffic In Academic Institutions – A case study of five (5) Nigerian Universities using customized, self developed log Analyzer.

The expected outcome should be able to compare and determine whether there is any common trend in the outcome of the analyzed Internet traffic among the selected Nigerian Universities using customized (self developed) log Analyzer in order to eliminate the shortcomings of the third party Log Analyzers and improve the outcome of the research.

ICT-Based Environment for Collaborative Research: The expected outcome should provide an ICT-Based collaborative Systems to support collaborative research that can flexibly adapt themselves to the context of knowledge workers. Context comprises of external factors such as location, device used or time, but also factors derived from the user’s interaction behavior such as interest profiles or tasks the user is engaged in.
