I was a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Chemistry, University of Ife. I conducted tutorial classes and practical chemistry classes for the preliminary students and I was also in charge of quantum chemistry tutorial classes for the final year students.

Between September 1972 and June 1974, I was a demonstrator in the Department of Chemistry at Queen’s University, in charge of the theory of practical and the practical chemistry classes, for some groups of first year students.

1976/77 Session:

Apart from the practical classes which I conducted for the 100 level and 300 level students, I taught Physical Chemistry III (a compulsory course for graduating chemistry major students) and Molecular Spectroscopy to the final year students. I also taught Electron Spectroscopy for Chemical Analysis (ESCA) and its Application in Analytical Chemistry to some Postgraduate Students.

 

CHE 221        Inorganic Chemistry Practical for second year students

CHE 345        Molecular Spectroscopy; Electron Spin Resonance and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance aspects of this third year course. This was a new addition to the course.


 

1977/78 Session:

CHE 371        Physical Chemistry III – Chemical bonding, contents of the course. This was a compulsory course for chemistry majors.

1978/79 Session:

CHE 371        Physical Chemistry III – Chemical Bonding, and also Group Theory and Symmetry contents of the course.

 

CHE 348        Molecular Spectroscopy – Electron Spin Resonance and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy. In addition, I taught the Infrared and Raman Spectroscopy which used to be taught by another lecturer who was on sabbatical leave in the 1978/79 session.
